Robert Serra was a Venezuelan politician and member of the National Assembly. He was born on April 16, 1987, in the state of Monagas, Venezuela. Serra was known for his passionate speeches and activism in support of the socialist government of President Nicolás Maduro.
Serra was a member of the governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela and was first elected to the National Assembly in 2010, at the age of 23. He served on several committees, including the Committee for Energy and Mines and the Committee for Internal Policy, Justice, and Peace.
On October 1, 2014, Robert Serra and his partner, María Herrera, were murdered in their home in Caracas. The crime shocked the country and was widely condemned by both government officials and opposition leaders. The Venezuelan government launched an investigation into the killings and arrested several suspects.
Serra was remembered for his energy and dedication to social justice causes. Several public buildings in Venezuela have been named in his honor, including the Robert Serra Cultural Center in Caracas.
